Since its inception in 1997, FoodTech Scandinavia has quickly grown to establish itself as the largest and most important food industry trade fair in Northern Europe. Now PharmaTech, too Production processes in the food and pharma industries are now almost identical. This is the reason why FoodTech Scandinavia is now accommodating the wishes of a large number of exhibitors by introducing a new sector for process equipment for the pharmaceutical industry: PharmaTech ! In both the food and pharma industries, parameters such as safety, environmentally friendly packaging, high specialisation and efficient production are crucial and demand research into – and utilisation – state-of-the-art technologies. Focus on safety FoodTech Scandinavia aims to focus clearly on safety. The numerous visitors will therefore – as a supplement to the presentation of product innovations – have the opportunity to participate in conferences centred on hygiene, traceability and quality assurance, as well as on the associated systems for steering, control and documentation. A wide range of these systems have already been implemented in the pharmaceutical industry, and they are now rapidly making their presence felt in the food sector. Development within the food and pharmaceutical industries is currently progressing at an almost explosive pace. Unless producers are competitive they will quite simply be overtaken by their competitors – because in these industries, standing still is the same as going backwards.
